Lighting Made Easy: Godox LiteFlow Reflector FAQs
To continue with our comprehensive LiteFlow chapter, today we're excited to introduce our detailed instruction manual, covering everything you need to know before and after utilising Godox LiteFlow reflector lights.
First things first, the Godox LiteFlow is the latest and greatest innovative and unique reflector/lighting diffusion system by Godox. With its precision-designed reflector, this system allows you to control the scattering of light while minimising reliance on flags or frames on the set. This new product is suitable for shooting scenes in studios, outdoors and cinematic productions.
Q1. How do I install the Godox LiteFlow reflector lights?
Step 1:
- Install the LiteFlow reflectors with the Wheel Mount Stud (WMS) by connecting a rob with a 5/8“ female socket.
OR
- Install the LiteFlow with the Wheel Mount Receiver (WMR) by inserting a rob with a male socket.
Step 2: To install WMS or WMR, loosen the wheel on the WMS slider by turning it counter-clockwise. Then insert it into the groove at the bottom of the reflector and slide it into the desired position. Once in position, turn the wheel clockwise to tighten and secure it in place.

Tip: To increase flexibility, consider using the extended arm to give your cine reflectors more distance from your light stand.
Q2. How do I set up two or more Godox LiteFlow reflectors on a stand?
To add reflectors, you can grip them onto the main stem of the light stand or build a T-bar tree with an arm stand. We recommend stacking smaller reflectors in front of bigger ones if the beam needs to stay narrow.

Q3. How do the Godox LiteFLow cine reflectors work?
- It produces a precise range of reflected, diffused light without spilling, thanks to its specially engineered aluminium surface.
- The coating prevents colour shift.
- The Godox LiteFlow reflector lights range from diffusion 0 to diffusion 4.
- The sleek rail mounting system supports a seamless workflow.
Q4. What if my shoot is affected by rain, snow or sand?
- Use distilled water or drinking water to rinse the LiteFlow reflector after shooting in adverse weather conditions to avoid minerals leaving residue when they try.
- Rinse off all the sand before you wipe the surface as otherwise you can scratch the surface.
- Use a clean microfleece cloth to dry the LiteFlow reflector.
- Make sure the reflector is fully dry before storing.
Note: Wet reflectors will corrode in their bags when stored for a long time.
Q5. Are Godox LiteFlow waterproofs?
Yes, LiteFlow panels can be used underwater. Make sure to always rinse off chlorine residue and dry the reflectors after every shooting day.
Note: Avoid touching acid and chlorine on the reflector’s surface.
Q6. What are the advantages of using LiteFlow reflectors for outdoor shoots?
- Achieve cinematic results-no need for multiple light sources.
- Redirect and diffuse sunlight.
- Add contrast, even on a cloudy day.
- Use double LiteFlow reflectors to achieve further light travel and a more natural look, especially useful in small and tight locations.
- For still life and packshot photography, highlight small or large details of your subject by respectively using LiteFlow7, LiteFlow15, LiteFlow25 and LiteFlow50.
- For outdoor shoots, get more natural-looking light by switching diffusion variables from 2-4 without needing silver bounce.
Q7. What makes the LiteFlow reflectors stand out from the standard bounce boards?
- LiteFlow reflectors give predictable and consistent light because of their ability to offer 100% colour reflection and 97% light reflection, which are more advanced than bounce boards.
- LiteFlow reflectors are calculated reflectors, not just normal mirrors.
- Reflectors give you controlled diffuse light in 5 precise steps (D1 to D4) and sizes (7, 15, 25, 50, and 100 cm), which are not available in standard bounce boards.
- Built-in sleek rail mounting system for quick and safe set-up.
Light Sources
Q8. When using the cine reflectors, what kind of light quality is created?
- Control and shape soft light by using the diffusion variables (D1 to D4).
-
Increase the wrap of diverse soft lights by moving the reflectors on the side of the object.
-
Using softer cine reflectors creates light sources with fewer shortcomings (such as an uneven field of light or colour fringing).
-
Placing the cine reflector far away from the lamp produces light sources with less likely flaws.
-
When using the Godox LiteFlow, all the colours that go in will come out exactly the same.
Q9. LED Light with LiteFlow
- For night shoots, you can use any light source you prefer, such as Godox LED lights, or PiXAPRO LED lights.
- For daytime, choosing the more powerful lights creates better light sources, such as fresnels and LED light panels.
Note: The light spreads to larger surfaces, like butterfly frames, when using fresnels. It also produces both fill and key light when combining a fresnel and a LiteFlow by placing the LiteFlow in front of the fresnel.
Care and Maintenance
Q10. How do I take care of the LiteFlow reflectors?
Because the Godox LiteFlow reflectors are high-tech surfaces, they should be maintained like other lighting equipment.
Step 1: Wear gloves (in the box) before cleaning the reflectors.
Step 2: Spray specialised cleaning spray on the reflector’s surface and wait 15-30 seconds.
Step 3: Use a cleansing cloth to dry the reflectors.
Step 4: Wait until it is fully dry, and then store it in the bag.
Note: To ensure cleaning effectiveness, please do not reuse the cleaning cloth.
Q11. How often should I clean the Godox cine reflectors?
You should clean and rinse the cine reflectors after every shooting day, and when fingerprints are left.
Note: Please avoid touching your fingers on the reflector's surfaces to prevent scratches on them.
Q12. How do I avoid dents and scratches on the cine reflector’s surface?
- Always use the sleeve while hanging the Godox cine reflectors.
- Return the reflectors to their cases whenever you can.
- Transportation: treat and store LiteFlow reflectors like your spare tungsten and HMI bulbs.
