OBSBOT Talent vs. YoloBox Pro
The OBSBOT Talent is an all-in-one Encoder, Switcher, Monitor and Recorder complete live-streaming production studio device. The Talent is the newest product released by industry leading AI webcam brand OBSBOT.
The Talent comes with a 5.44” AMOLED FHD Touchscreen to provide high-quality and precise display for easy monitoring, capable of 1080p@60fps, equipped with multiple video inputs such as: 2 HDMI 2.0, 2 USB-A 3.0, smartphone camera, RTMP, SRT & NDI and topped off with a handful of useful support features.
But how does it compare to other industry-standard video switchers such as the YoloBox Pro? Well let’s find out! We’re here to give you a full breakdown on all specifications and help you figure out which one is best suited for your needs!
Price & Portability
Both devices have a very similar price point, with the Talent being priced at £1,100 and the Yolobox Pro at £1,069. However, the size and weight of each device differentiates quite vastly, with the OBSBOT Talent measuring: 147.2mm x 90mm x 28.5mm with a weight of 402g, and the YoloBox Pro measuring: 210mm x 140mm x27.1mm with a weight of 981g. With each product being different in size and having quite a large difference in weight, you have a choice between a smaller, more portable device, or a larger, heavier device but with a larger display. There really is no single 'best' option here. The choice comes down to personal preference and what you need it for.
Display & Control
The display and controls are some of the most important features to a lot of people nowadays, and while both devices are equipped with touchscreen displays, there are some notable differences between the two. The OBSBOT Talent is fitted with a 5.44” AMOLED touchscreen display, and the YoloBox Pro features an 8” LCD touchscreen display. There are big differences between an AMOLED and an LCD screen.
Typically, AMOLED screens are better for:
- Deeper blacks, higher contrast, and more vivid colours.
- Power efficiency when displaying dark or mixed content.
- Superior viewing angles and an immersive experience for videos and games.
While LCD screens are better for:
- Higher brightness, especially in outdoor/brighter settings.
- Consistent colour accuracy and power consumption.
- Durability in avoiding issues like burn-in, especially for static content or heavy users of apps with constant UI elements.
AMOLED is better than LCD if you prioritize deep blacks, vibrant colours, and power efficiency with darker content. For multimedia consumption, AMOLED offers a more visually immersive experience.
LCD is better than AMOLED if you need consistent brightness, durability against burn-in, and natural colour accuracy. For outdoor use or applications requiring sustained high brightness, LCD performs better.

While there are major differences between the two, once again there isn’t a clear-cut winner, and your decision should come down to your personal preferences and needs. AMOLED screens are better if you will be using the Talent as an interactive display and will be changing scenes often or using it as a true representation of your stream display, and LCD screens would be recommended if you are leaving the screen for long periods of time on the same screen as the possibility of screen burn is quite high when LCD devices are left static for long periods, but as stated previously, this difference isn’t that important and therefore can be left to personal preference.
Video Input / Output and Streaming Capabilities
Another important feature, possibly one of the most, is the input/output and streaming capabilities of your device. While both devices feature an array of features and supports, there are varying differences between the two. Let’s look at some of the differences between the two.
Video Inputs
- Talent: 2 HDMI 2.0, 2 ISB-A 3.0, Phone Camera, RTMP, SRT, NDI.
- YoloBox Pro: 4 HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, RJ-45
Comparing the video inputs against each-other, we can see that the OBSBOT Talent has a lot more options which would be a better fit for people with more professional, versatile setups with different cables, wires and inputs. We can see that the YoloBox Pro has less inputs, but more HDMI inputs, as well as some USB ones too. The YoloBox would potentially be a better solution for anybody with a simpler setup, and for people that may need more HDMI inputs (like if you have multiple cameras using HDMI), the YoloBox would also be a better option here too.

Video Outputs
- Talent: USB-C
- YoloBox Pro: (Connector) HDMI Out, USB-C. (Protocols) RTMP, RTMPS, MJPEG, SRT
As we can see, the Talent is limited to USB-C as a video output which can limit the functionality of this device, unless you’re willing to grab an adapter, which of course will require an additional & separate purchase. The YoloBox Pro comes equipped with a HDMI output, a USB-C and other Video Output Protocols such as RTMP & RTMPS which are streaming protocols primarily used for live video and audio streaming. Either product comes down to your personal preference once again, but the YoloBox Pro seems to be the best if you have a more complex setup with many different wires, cables, etc.
Streaming Quality
- Talent: 1080p@60, 1080p@30, 720p@60, 720p@30
- YoloBox Pro: 4K@30, 1080p@60, 1080p@30, 720p@60, 720p@30
While they almost exclusively have good quality settings, the YoloBox Pro wins as it’s able to go up to 4K@30 frames per second, compared to the Talent which can only run 1080p@60 frames per second. If you’re interested in streaming in true 4K with no upscaling, there’s a clear winner here and that’s the YoloBox Pro.
Support Features
When it comes to streaming, there are a lot of hidden or unknown tips and tricks that can make your life a lot easier. Some of these features can be found directly within your devices. Some of these features allow streaming directly from your device to the platform of your choice, allow wireless communication from your camera to your computers and much more.
One important feature to note with the Talent, is that due to being part of the OBSBOT range, it has direct compatibility and control features that pair with the OBSBOT Tail Air, Tiny 2 and Meet cameras! This means that if you're looking to set up a 4K webcam setup with the OBSBOT cameras, the Talent will be your best option due to it offering direct control options and maximum efficiency.
Here are some of the features and a list of features found on the two devices.
- Talent: HDMI, USB, RTMP, Built-In NDI, SRT, PTZ Control, VISCA Control, Phone Control & Web Control
- YoloBox Pro: HDMI, USB 2.0 & 3.0, RTMP, NDI (No Built-In), SRT, PTZ Control (Only Available via VISCA Control) & VISCA Control.
Both products come with a surplus of features and support settings, but the YoloBox Pro is missing a few of them, such as: Built-In NDI, SDI support, Phone & Web Control. These features may be important to you, depending on your method of streaming/setup. Let me explain what this mean:
- Built-In NDI (Network Device Interface): A protocol that allows video devices to communicate and share high-quality, low-latency video over a network, important for broadcasters and content creators needing efficient live video production and IP-based workflows.
- SDI (Serial Digital Interface) Support: A standard for transmitting uncompressed digital video and audio signals over long distances, crucial for professional video production environments like television studios and live event setups.
- Phone & Web Control: Enables remote control of cameras or streaming equipment via smartphones or web browsers, providing flexibility and convenience for remote operators, vloggers, and small production teams who need easy and portable management.
After looking into the information on each device, if any of these features are important to you or are utilised in your setup, I would suggest looking into the OBSBOT Talent as it seems to be the switcher with more settings, features and compatibility when compared to the YoloBox Pro.
Summary
After taking a thorough dive into each device’s specifications, features, pricing, compatibility and more, you still may be wondering which is the “best” option, so let’s investigate it. As we broke down each specification together, there were many different scenarios in which one product is better than the other, such as: the Talent being better for more complex setups with more input/output capabilities, then we had the YoloBox Pro being the better option for its streaming quality, having a 4K option (unlike the Talent).
But when it comes down to which is the “better” product, the real answer is, it all comes down to personal preference and your needs, especially with the products being so close in price. Honestly, there’s not an objectively better or worse option and both devices are very good and can fulfil different needs. If you need a complex device to compensate for a complex setup with more wires, cables, etc, or you're looking for maximum OBSBOT camera compatibility, then we’d recommend the Talent, but if you’re simply looking for the highest quality, the YoloBox Pro may be your best option.
Whether you’re a beginner that’s just getting into the world of streaming and recording, or a professional that’s looking for the next piece of equipment to upgrade your setup, we are sure you won’t be disappointed with your choice and will be in good hands with OBSBOT or YoloLiv.
