The Godox AD600Pro MKI Flash vs the NEW AD600PRO MKII

The AD600Pro II has been announced by Godox to the joy of photographers worldwide! The successor to the popular and renowned AD600 Pro, the MKII has been introduced with a wide range of upgraded features to help you shoot with more ease and efficiency than ever before. We've compared the key features of the original and new AD600Pro flashes right here so you can decide whether to upgrade to the new model.

The AD600 Pro

At their cores, both Godox AD600 Pro models are 600w battery-powered strobe flashes for photography, with handy LCD screens, High Speed Sync and TTL compatibility. Designed for freezing action and achieving crisp, sharp images, the AD600 series is perfect for capturing sports or pet photography, and the high output makes these flashes a top choice for shooting outdoors and overpowering the sun with ease.

The New and Upgraded MKII Features

X3 One-Tap Connectivity

While both AD600s are compatible with all Godox 2.4GHz triggers due to their built-in receiver, the AD600Pro II's new "One-Tap Sync" function enables instant synchronization with the X3 Flash Trigger. Simply tap the wireless sync on the X3 and select the sync icon on the AD600ProII, they'll synchronize wirelessly in mere seconds. No more need to manually switch Channels and IDs!

Upgraded Groups

The AD600Pro II has now been upgraded to 16 groups, compared to the MKI's 5 groups. Each group is now also represented by a different colour, displayed on both the flash and on the X3 trigger itself. This innovative feature allows you to easily identify which lights are in which group.

User Interface and Screen Upgrades

Boasting a new vibrant and high quality TFT colour screen with enhanced brightness and contrast the AD600Pro II screen is improved over the MKI's backlight LCD screen, ensuring optimal visibility, even in challenging lighting scenarios.

The AD600ProII's control panel has also been further streamlined, allowing for quick and convenient access. The Power ON/OFF button is now placed directly on the panel rather than the bottom of the light, and the modelling light button only needs a 1-second press to enable and disable it.

Freeze Mode

While both the older and new models have super short flash durations for sharp action images, AD600Pro II features a new and exceptional Freeze Mode, enabling you to effortlessly capture action and quick motion!

With an ultra-short flash duration of as little as 1/20400 (t0.1) and a quick recycling time as fast as 0.01s, the AD600Pro II enables you to freeze fast-moving objects with unrivalled precision.

Modelling Lamp Upgrade

The modelling lamp has also been upgraded from 38w to a more powerful 40W Bi-Colour continuous LED light, providing you with a versatile dual-purpose lighting solution. It can serve as both a high-performance flash, as well as a reliable continuous 2800K-6000k Variable Colour Temperature LED light for shooting video. The AD600Pro II can therefore also be used as a supplemental light source to fill shadows or add warmth to your images in low-light situations.

Output Range

The AD600Pro II now features an extended 10-stop output range, going from 1/1 to as low as 1/512 power. This enables you to tailor the power output to the exact output needs. Whether you need the full might of the flash or a subtle kiss of light, the AD600Pro II enables you to achieve perfect lighting, with unparalleled flexibility and precision.

Price

Despite the new upgrades, the price of the new AD600Pro II remains the same as the MKI at £828.99 RRP on our website to enable you the choice to purchase whichever option best suits you! Find the full comparison for specifications below so you can compare the important technical features.
