Changes to our Warranty Policy
We've made some changes to our warranty policy which will apply with effect from 00:00am on 10th October 2024. We've listed some of the important changes below with some information on how this may affect you, or, you can find our full policy online at www.essentialphoto.co.uk/pages/warranty
What's changing?
Lighting Unit Cover
As of this month, lighting units purchased from EssentialPhoto & Video will no longer have a standard 2-year warranty cover.
PiXAPRO Branded lighting retains a 2-year warranty cover with your purchase. This continues to cover electrical faults only, with spare parts, bulbs and accessories covered under other sections of our policy.
Godox branded lighting, and any lighting units from other brands, will receive a standard 1-year of cover with new purchases. This includes flash, LED, speedlites and any light heads or extensions, with electrical faults covered, and spare parts, bulbs, and accessories covered under the other sections of the policy.
1 Year Cover
We have now updated our 1 Year Warranty to cover items from any non-PiXAPRO branded products stocked on our website. This includes monitors, modifiers, backgrounds, stands, accessories and more, with exceptions for parts covered with 6, 3 or 2 month warranties.
6 Month Cover
6 month warranty cover now specifically includes:
Modifier Consumables: Grids and diffusers supplied with softboxes etc.
Smoke Machine Liquids: Provided with the smoke machine and/or purchased separately.

How this affects your purchase
Any purchases made on or before 9th October 2024 will remain covered by the warranty as advertised when sold. Extended warranty purchased before this date will also be honoured as 1+ year on top of the warranty provided with your purchase.
Our new warranty policy will come into effect from 00:00am (GMT +01:00) on October 10th, 2024. Any purchases made after this will be subject to the new warranty policy, with no exceptions.
Extended warranty bought with purchases from this date onwards will apply as +1 year on top of the new cover.
Claiming Warranty
To ensure we're able to provide the best possible service for warranty cases with efficient turnaround, we are now requiring serial number information from the unit and/or box of the purchased item. The serial number is used to connect the unit to it's warranty. If you can't find this, just let us know and we'll be able to direct you to where this will be.
This is so that we can match the unit with the batch it was supplied from, and for us to keep track of the item while it's with us for return/repair, and to track the repair history. If it is found that the returned item does not match with our records, or if this serial number is not provided when requested, we will not be able to cover this item, and it will be treated as a non-warranty repair/return.
