Introducing the Godox iFlash Range

The Godox iFlash range consists of super compact manual on-camera flashes designed for a slightly retro-feel and for casual and stylised photoshoots! The budget now-expanded range consists of 4 different flashes which all have slightly different features. Read below to find out what each different flash does.

The iFlash Range

Released in 2024, the Godox iFlash range consists of a range of super compact, handy universal manual and automatic on-camera flashes that attach to the hotshoe. With more power than most built-in flashes for cameras, these little lights offer bright fill lighting for your images at minimal cost. All four flashes are universal, meaning that they will work with most camera brands and hotshoes, with some exceptions for hotshoes missing the centre pin.

With the whole range weighing in at under 120g each, these pocket-sized flash options are perfect for anyone looking for a tiny flash to travel with. While these flashes have a lot of similarities based on their design, power and function, there are a few differences that set them apart from each other. Find out more below.

iM30

The first-released of the bunch, the iM30 uses AAA batteries to power it, allowing for approximately 230 full powered flashes, and has a recycle time of around 3.6s between flashes. Out of the four flashes, the iM30 gets the smallest range of flashes and has the longest recycle time, meaning it's best used for less intensive purposes.

Like most of the iFlash range, the IM30 is a manual flash, meaning the flash is set manually, making it more affordable at £32.00. Equipped with a dial to change the flash duration, this flash is the best option for straightforward settings changes.

iM20

A more compact looking version of the iM30, the iM20 on the other hand, uses a built-in rechargeable battery that takes approximately 1hr 10mins to fully charge via Type C cable, and offers up to 440 full powered flashes on this charge. At just 31g, this is the most compact and lightweight of the bunch, and is great for travelling with due to it's rechargeable battery and size, again with manual only control.

As a result of the smaller size, the iM20 has more simplified controls than the iM30, with just a + and - button to adjust flash power rather than a dial, instead with handy lights to indicate what flash level it's at. At the same price point of £32.00, the key differences lie in the battery type and slightly faster recycle time.

iM22

Also priced at £32.00, the iM22 is remarkably similar to the iM20 with the same built-in rechargeable battery and maximum flashes, and straightforward buttons. Functionally the same as the iM20, the primary difference is the design of the flash, with a slightly taller vertical construction compared to the flat, lower design of the iM20.

iA32

The most unique of the four, the iA32 is also the most expensive at £47.00. This flash's taller design includes not only a small LCD screen which displays the flash settings, but also has a manually rotatable flash head via a dial, which allows you to adjust the angle between -7° to 90°. This means you can angle it down for higher-angle shots, directly at your subject, or up to the ceiling to bounce the light.

The iA32 also has the largest flash power range of 8, with the option of as little as 1/128, and uniquely, offers both manual and auto modes, which allows you to set the ISO and Aperture values and then recommends shooting distance on the screen!

It does, however, work on AA batteries and not a rechargeable battery, though does support up to 490 full charged flashes (the most of the four), and has the fastest recycle time of just 2.5s. If you're after maximum versatility and handy auto-mode assistance, the iA32 is the one to choose.
