The OBSBOT Tiny 2 vs the new Tiny 2 Lite: What's the Difference?
New additions to the OBSBOT webcamera range, the Tiny 2 cameras are compact, lightweight options for 4K recording, offering high-quality, smart AI tracking features and impressive sensors that allow for effective recording for everything from virtual meetings and conferences, to gaming livestreams and events coverage with minimal fuss.
The Tiny 2 was launched as OBSBOT's most compact camera option against the Tiny 1 and the newer Tail Air cameras, and is perfect for mounting on top of laptops or monitors due to it's size. In 2024, OBSBOT then announced the addition of the Tiny 2 Lite, designed as a more affordable and even more streamlined option.
So, we've created a full rundown of the differences between the two Tiny 2 camera models including a handy specifications comparison table so you can pick which camera is best for you.

What's Different?
While both cameras feature many similarities in terms of their general functions and resolution (both achieve a 4K resolution at 30fps), there are a few differences that can affect the outcome you're aiming for.
The new Tiny 2 Lite, as it's name implies, is lighter in weight than it's predecessor by almost 50 grams, bringing it to a super lightweight 91g with it's built-in mount.
It also has a smaller active-pixel sensor (½” CMOS) and single native ISO to cope with low-lighting conditions, whereas the Tiny 2 has a larger sensor (1/1.5” CMOS) with PixGain HDR and dual native ISO. If you're looking for a camera that can handle darker conditions with ease, the Tiny 2 will be your best option. If you're not shooting in challenging conditions and will primarily be using your camera in well-lit areas, the Tiny 2 Lite will work just fine!
Similarly, the two cameras have different connection speeds, with the Tiny 2 Lite using basic USB 2.0, while the Tiny 2 has a faster USB 3.0 port. If you're aiming for super speedy connection for streaming for example, the Tiny 2 is your best bet.
While both cameras offer AI movement tracking features to follow you when recording, the Tiny 2 Lite pares back some of these features to keep only the most important ones. This means that the Hand Tracking, Zone Tracking, Desk Mode, Whiteboard Mode, and Voice Control features can only be found in the Tiny 2, though the Lite model does include normal body tracking, Zoom, and Gesture Control.
