Although large modifiers such as softboxes will give you soft lighting, they can still produce harsh reflections with hard edges when photographing highly reflective products, such as glass and chrome etc. Using the 1.2x 18m diffusion paper in conjunction with your other modifiers will soften out the hard edges in the reflections for more pleasing graduated lighting, that still shows the form of the product that you are photographing.
