Featuring a full Fairlight audio mixer, all HDMI and microphone inputs are individually routed to the mixer for live audio mixing.
Each of the 4 HDMI inputs on ATEM Mini has its own dedicated standards converter, automatically converting 1080p, 1080i, and 720p sources to the switcher's video standard. The switcher auto-selects the video format, but you can also set it manually. The HDMI output serves as a true "aux" output, allowing clean switching between HDMI inputs or the program feed. For low-latency eSports, you can switch input 1 directly to the HDMI output. The HDMI output can show either the preview or, on the ATEM Mini Pro, a full multiview.

The built-in media pool lets you load up to 20 RGBA graphics for titles, logos, and opening plates. These images appear as an additional video source for graphics and effects, such as graphic wipes. ATEM Mini can capture stills from the video output and add them to the media pool. Graphics can be loaded via ATEM Software Control or directly from Photoshop using the ATEM Photoshop plug-in, ideal for frequently updated graphics like scoreboards.
ATEM Mini is ideal for news or on-set presentations with its upstream ATEM Advanced Chroma Key and downstream linear keyer. The chroma keyer features a colour picker for automatic key parameter generation, precise edge and flare controls, and a foreground colour corrector for seamless compositions. It also supports pattern and DVE keying, as well as title overlays by removing green or blue backgrounds from graphics for transparency.
ATEM Mini starts in "cut bus" mode, where selecting an input instantly switches sources. However, you can switch to "program/preview" mode for a professional workflow using ATEM Software Control. In this mode, a source is selected but only goes live when you press cut or auto, reducing mistakes. This two-step process is perfect for broadcast training.
The ATEM Mini Pro offers a professional multiview feature, displaying all 4 video inputs, plus preview and program, on a single HDMI monitor. Just select M/V on the front panel to activate multiview. Each camera view includes tally indicators, custom labels, audio meters, and media player status. Multiview also shows recording, streaming, and Fairlight audio mixer status.
ATEM Mini’s built-in Fairlight audio mixer offers 12 channels for mixing audio from all HDMI sources and 2 stereo mic inputs. Each channel features a 6-band EQ, compressor, limiter, expander, noise gate, and full panning. You can set up auto mixing with "AFV" or live mix multiple sources. Control audio via ATEM Software Control, a Mackie-compatible panel, or a Fairlight Audio Console.
ATEM Software Control connects to ATEM Mini via USB or Ethernet. Using Ethernet allows you to share your computer’s internet for streaming on the ATEM Mini Pro. Simply connect via Ethernet, enable internet sharing on your computer, and select the ATEM Mini model in the software. This setup lets you control and stream with a single Ethernet cable, offering mobility through wireless connections like WiFi or 4G/5G tethered phones.
ATEM Mini allows remote control of cameras, including Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K, via HDMI. You can adjust camera settings, including ISO, tint, iris, focus, and zoom, all from ATEM Software Control. It provides high-quality program video and live audio from the internal mixer. With ATEM Software Control, you can ISO record individual inputs. On the ATEM Mini Pro, you can record in ProRes from the HDMI output while simultaneously saving the H.264 stream to a USB flash drive.
